Beyond her creative works, Andrea is an outspoken advocate and community activist dedicated to supporting SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) families and bringing vital awareness to the realities of cultic environments and religious trauma. Drawing from her lived experience as a former ordained nun, she has published impactful articles—including Stealing the Dharma out of the air—and contributed to online resource platforms aimed at exposing toxic group dynamics, deconstructing fundamentalism, and helping survivors heal. Guided by that same fierce empathy in her community work, she champions SEND families by fighting for accessible, inclusive spaces where neurodivergence and diverse needs are understood, celebrated, and supported.
